September 25-27, 2015
We’ve added a few new twists to the Shoot, Print and Frame the North Shore Photography Workshop for 2015. 1st, though we are shooting in glorious fall colors, we will be printing in black and white. 2nd, to go with your black and white image we will be framing in rustic barn wood.
Join us on the North Shore of Lake Superior for some photography, editing, printing, framing and fun! Space is limited to eight participants so don’t delay. You can save $20 by signing up no later than July 26, 2015. Click here to get info and sign up!
Season 3 of Our Popular Workshop Announced!
Oh, and did we mention an early signup discount?
Laurie Hernandez (Queen of the Crop) & Rikk Flohr (the Cropist) are excited to announce the Fall 2014 date of their popular Shoot, Print and Frame the North Shore workshop. The Friday-Sunday workshop is located along the Minnesota shore of Lake Superior and offers shooting of lakeshore and inland fall colors. Ample classroom time is provided to discuss and execute topics like developing your shots for print, color management, and actual on-site printing. We finish the workshop off by sending you home with one of your own creations, framed – under glass ready-to-hang!
And, as always, there will be cropping!
Space is limited and we do typically compete with the far-north fall color tours for hotel space so don’t delay. Complete information can be found here. Click link at the bottom of this page to request a registration form. We hope to see you there!
Early Signup Discount till June 30th, 2014!

Sometimes the stars align and the objects with which you are presented in your view finder are perfect for the camera’s native 3:2 aspect ratio. This shot is one of those times. The normal reasons we crop, to strengthen composition, remove distractions, fit the matting or framing are all unnecessary here. Careful in-camera framing and the appropriate subject means we have all our pixels intact.
Sometimes (not often) the best crop is choosing not to crop.
